The phrase "quiet on the set!" never really applies to a Cherrystems shoot.

I'm here in my living room right now watching Brynna shoot another of our new models (we've got three new naked people coming your way!), and it makes me so incredibly glad. Lots of laughing, lots of fun, and all kinds of positivity.

Thanks so much for your patience in the last 8 months-ish, everyone. Things have been a bit weird for me in learning my new brain chemistry. Panic has been trying to take over my awesomeness, and it's taken a fair amount of effort to keep it in check. It's kinda going to be an ongoing thing as far as I can see, but I wanted to express how much I love having this community around - the members, models, and everyone involved. You're all such awesome people.

So sometimes I take a while to get back to you, but know that that's slated to sort itself out. Keeping focus on the amazing things in life, mostly CS and Fuze, keeps me incredibly happy.

I'm having trouble concentrating because there is a gorgeous naked human being in my dining room playing the ukelele.

So I'm going to go pay attention to that.

Bliss!

It's pretty awful. As owner of Cherrystems, I've seen a lot of awful things directed at our models. This hasn't stopped, and I think has come to the most awful head yet. It saddens me to think that it's not the most awful that will happen, and that there is likely worse yet to come.

People, think about what you are posting on the internet. Every time we get knocked down, we'll get back up stronger than ever. Life's rad. Let's enjoy it!

Just please, in your personal interactions and on the internet, think about what you're saying, the reach of those statements, and how other people will be effected.
Well hello.

Yesterday was a holiday here in Winnipeg, which means little to me, but I decided to make use of the day anyway. Louis Riel day was the occasion. Truly, it's that us lower-middle class folks in Canada were showing way too much SAD (seasonal affective disorder) and were feeling 110% overworked by our jobs, that the provinces decided we needed another day off. Something I can totally get behind (except that for me, long weekend mean I'm inevitably working my day job because the rest of you want to travel).

Anyhow. Aaron, LadyBlue, her partner, and I all headed down to the Festival du Voyageur - something that I get super excited about every single year, being Québécois. Snow sculptures, drinking, pea soup, tourtière, poutine, and all kinds of delicious maple goodies. A rad time was had singing and drinking at the snow bar, but unfortunately the whole thing shut down early with the holiday and all. Oh well! It made for a grandmotherly night at home, in bed by 10:20pm with a pleasant buzz and mild sugar high.

Today it's back to the grind, which I love. Porn-planning, toy-selling, grind. What a happy life.

I'll be making a video on my new laptop today to start answering those questions we've been getting. EXCITE!

I've resolved not to leave the house, as the windchill has dropped down to -37 degrees, but at the same time I just want to get out there and get some errands done. We'll see what ends up happening. I'm sure you're excited to know.

Overblogging? Health!

Maybe I'm overblogging, but I have some interesting things to share.

Namely, I had to take a bit of a break lately. We all have our own personal worlds to deal with, and mine got a bit hectic lately - which I've alluded to in other posts. But it is time that I share what's going on with me, as I'm all about being honest that life isn't always all smiles and titties.

I have a bit of the panic/anxiety - it's something that runs in my family. I keep it under control with breathing, and most recently with yoga. It's something that's just always going to be a struggle for me, but it's reality and nothing can change that - so I might as well just live with it and make the best of the whole situation.

I've also had a heart palpitation since I was in my early teens. Doctors have always assured me that it's not a big deal, and that the side effects of any medication I would go on to control it would have worse side effects than just enduring the once-a-week palpitation. That's a totally fine diagnosis. I'm not one who jumps onto pills to solve problems, though I do see that they are sometimes necessary - so I've been living happily with my skippy beat ever since. We've become friends.

Trouble is, last week we had a falling out. I haven't been taking enough time for legitimate self care and relaxation since early December. I'd been on the road for about 13 straight days on Thursday when I noticed something was up. I was dizzy, yawning every 20 seconds, and my heart was just acting up like it never has before. The weeks leading up to this, my palpitation friend was sneaking up on me. It went from 1-2 times a week to 5-10. Still, I ignored the signs.

Thursday was a terrifying day. I can breathe through a panic attack like a boss these days, but only on Thursday did it click that I'd been breathing my way through 1 or 2 panic attacks daily for the last week. Why did it click? Because my palpitation friend went from 5-10 times per week to 51 times in one day.

My panicky brain sent my heart feverish signals, telling it to beat faster - panic! Fight! Calm down. Fight! Panic!

I flew home immediately and headed to my doctor.

We settled on a treatment decision, based on the fact that these palpitations were so frequent as to cause chest pain. I didn't want to be medicated for the panic attacks, and my doctor agreed that if my breathing generally works, then I don't need to do something quite as severe as medicate myself against that. The trouble was that even though my breathing was effective, the heart palpitations would send a jolt of fear through me every time they happened - making all my good breathing useless, and putting more stress on my heart. It was a cycle. One feeding the other in an endless loop.

So he decided that I would take Atenolol, a beta-blocker, for my heart. I wasn't too clear on what it does aside from slowing the heart rate, but he assured me that this slowed heart rate would take stress off the heart and allow me to get back to normal. So I started it this weekend. Of course you take a pill and expect side effects and a noticeable difference right away, but that didn't happen. I did call in sick to work because of the risk of extreme fatigue they told me about when you start taking this medication.

This morning, I noticed a difference. You know when your alarm goes off and it scares the living shit out of you? Your body gets scared and sends the "OH SHIT OH GOD KILL IT!!" chemical out and your muscles tense and your heart rate spikes and you just need to turn that shit off? Well, that's how I turn off alarms.

Anyhow. I turned that shit off and flopped back down into bed, waiting to feel that familiar THUMP THUMP of an adrenaline-fueled heartbeat that I get every time I'm jarred awake by an alarm. Only I didn't. Everything was just normal. I felt the adrenaline tense my muscles, but my heart rate was just fine. Weird. So I looked up the drug on the internet rather than just reading the paper enclosed with the bottle of pills.

Immediately, I find this description of the drug: Beta-blockers
block the action of the sympathetic nervous system of the heart, thus
reducing stress on the heart. The sympathetic nervous system activates
the "fight or flight" response. It is part of the autonomic nervous
system.

Holy crap! It's actually working! That's BATSHIT!

I've never really taken many medications like this one - ones where you subtly notice changes. I've taken antibiotics here and there, but I've never really had a "problem" like this. It's so crazy to think that the little pill I take makes my heart be all like "Yeah, brain, I get it. You're scared, it's ok. Imma just keep doin' what I do, dig?" while still being able to up the heart rate during exercise or other muscle demand.

Anyway. That's my fascination with science for the day. I may only need this medication for about a month, which is nice. Just until I calm myself down and get my life back in order.

But yeah! Sometimes you need to take a break. I apologize for any less-than-frequent updates, but it is what it is. It's taught me a lot about running a business and taking on too much all at once. Ease. I must ease back to normal. :)

A new day

Hello!

Today's been just an awesome day overall. While I've been having a few problems with my health lately, I'm feeling a bit better and just started a medication today that should fix the problem. For anyone that's been wondering about it over the last several days, know that it's not life threatening, and that I am indeed getting help and putting myself first!

Onward!

Today started just the way that I like it to - wrapped up in bed with Aaron. Our room is a lot of blues and greys, with blue window coverings that make the light in the room so cool and relaxing. Anyhow. We lazed around for a perfect amount of time, then I got up and made a delicious breakfast of coconut milk pancakes with strawberries and farmer sausage. Yum, talk about starting a day off right. I also took my very first pill (it lowers my heart rate), and sat around weirdly waiting for any symptoms. Nothing noticeable happened. I was pleased.

Next it was off to the home of the lovely Adventuress to shoot our newest model, Belinda. Let me tell you how amazingly it went. First off, Belinda stopped in at the home of Arachnia to have her makeup done. While I've known Belinda for about a year now, I'd never seen her with makeup done - and that's neither good nor bad, it's just a thing. We don't often do our makeup as though we're going to a photoshoot, and it's awesome to see when someone is looking super great and feeling super great, and the whole thing just ends up such a ball of positivity.

Anyhow. We got down to the shooting pretty quickly, and I have to say that she's a complete natural. Love, love, love all over the place for that woman.

After riding the high of that shoot, Adventuress and I walked over to a local pub for a quick meeting. See, we at Cherrystems will be hanging out being awesome at the Pin Ups and Sailors dance party on February 15th - and so we needed to talk a bit of business before that gets underway. End result? You, the reader, should totally come out on the 15th if you've got a chance. It's going to be a super positive night full of booze, gender-bending, partying, and pretty people. Come. COME!

After all was finished, I returned home and cozied up here on the couch. In order to let my body adjust to my new lower heart rate, I've taken a few days off of my day job. Nothing worse than feeling dizzy at work, so I'm just taking it easy until I know that this won't effect me in crazy ways.

So yeah! Now it's off to enjoy some Bob's Burgers. Oh Jon Benjamin. You so funny.

It seems like I haven't sat down in my own house since October! I know I've had some periods off, but I ultimately did bite off more than I could chew. I think I've sorted it all out now though.

What is new in the personal life of Kate? I got a last name! I'm now Miss Kate Sinclaire. I like it a lot. Why do I have it? Because my real name is fucking hard to pronounce, and people shouldn't know it anyway. I'm really working hard to backtrack and undo as much of the last name association as I can. Now that I'm making public speaking appearances and television engagements, it's become painfully obvious that no one can pronounce my fucking name. I don't blame them. So here I fell, to Sinclaire. There's a bit of sin, it goes with Kate nicely, and it's french-rooted like me!

Otherwise, life is good. I'm gearing up for some super sexy events coming up, including the launch party for Porn for Everyone in Vancouver in March, and the FPAs in Toronto in April. On the non-porn side of things, I'll be going to Sasquatch Music Festival in May again this year - hooray! Can't wait!

Hope life's treating you well!

Hello!

Long time no talk! That's a thing that's both good and bad. It means that the site hasn't been behaving weirdly or completely broken in a while, so I haven't had to make server status updates or anything like that. But! It also means that I've fallen out of contact with you - my favourite amazing subscribers.

In terms of news right now, most of the action is going on behind the scenes - quite literally. We're gearing up for the new, more explicit, site, and can announce that we've re-enlisted the talents of our designer Chad, and of our programmer Aaron. The new site will be coded in Ruby on Rails, which for any geeks out there means that we're kinda hip. Or that we wish we were? Regardless. It'll be spiffily-coded and certainly gorgeous if Chad has anything to do with it. He'll also be taking on a few of the pages here on CS that Aaron designed (Aaron in not a designer - hello Members page!).

Some of the models of CS will be making a public appearance at the Pinups and Sailors party for Gender Fest here in Winnipeg on February 15th at Gio's. I'm going to make a separate, personal blog about it, so you should keep your eyes peeled for that.

Otherwise, you'll start to notice more video updates in the coming weeks. I've finally decided to upgrade from my netbook to a fancy MacBook Pro, specifically so that I can work on the road. Being that I spend half of my life traveling, this is a big deal. Now I can just spend my time at home relaxing! ... Or making porn. Ya know, whatever mood I'm in.

And now I'm off to bed. I'm stuck in an airport hotel in Edmonton tonight, so I might as well get some sleep.

Cheers!

Hello!

How's your November treating you? Wonderfully? Wonderful! Glad to hear it.

Ours is also treating us wonderfully. For instance, we were assisted in getting a spot on the local comedy talk show Week Thus Far by Marie Prairie! Kate made an appearance, which you can watch right here. We've also been interviewed by local biweekly paper, The Projector - which I'll post a link to once the article publishes.

And! We're likely going to be on a sexy show out of Toronto in the new year. Wow! That's a lot of exposure!

Some of you may have noticed slight outages and strange behaviours from the site last week, specifically leading up to the release of Jen's debut set. We think we've got it all ironed out now, but basically what happened was that our host sent Aaron an email saying "Hey, we're going to move your site to a different server this month! Watch out!", which is an easy thing to deal with - just a few switches to flip on our end and we're good to go. Trouble was, a few minutes later we got a message saying "KAY ITS MOVED NOW!" (well, not like that, but that was the gist of it). Having not had time to flip the appropriate switches, we were caught with our pants down - which isn't always a bad thing, but was in this case. Luckily, it is all sorted out and you all got to check out our awesome new model, Jen.

You've already met our first video, starring Marie, and I'm super excited about the passion it's instilled in me to get our new, harder, sister site up and running. What we really need is a name... A snappy name...

Any ideas?

Oh, and enjoy this week's new set, debuting at 12am on Friday, November 23!

Hello!

I'm back! Literally! I was away for almost two weeks there, which is why the site saw some reruns (quality reruns, I must say). So what was I doing that whole time?

Bourbon!

Yes, I went on a bourbon pilgrimage. My partner, Aaron, and I flew down to Indianapolis, Indiana, rented a car, and drove a giant clockwise circle around the state of Kentucky. I'd been toying with the idea for almost a year by the time we picked up and went for it. We love our bourbon, we love craft beer, and we love experimentation (oh my!), so in researching the Bourbon Trail™, I became a bit disillusioned with the whole thing. I quickly realized that this Bourbon Trail™ contained all of the big guys - Maker's Mark, Woodford Reserve, Four Roses, Jim Beam, etc. All brands that I don't really like, save for Woodford. Heaven Hills was interesting because they do make an incredible array of spirits, but it's all so... Factory style. I've never been into factory style anything. I went as far as starting up my own porno site because factory porn wasn't doing it. So was I about to travel to Kentucky and do tours of big factory booze that I don't even like? No.

That's when I started the in-depth googlin'. Searching out the small operations that were making small batch bourbons, moonshines, and more. Old Pogue, Corsair, MB Roland, Barrel House... All of these places seemed like they knew what the fuck they were doing. So we found their addresses, printed out a map, and set out. We were even more pleased to find out that our first stop on the trip, Old Pogue, was releasing their very first spirit, Limestone Landing white rye whisky, the day that we'd be rolling through. Badass.

Even more badass? We rolled through Maysville, KY, the home of Old Pogue, on Saturday, October 13. The day before, October 12, the state had officially announced the Kentucky Craft Bourbon Trail™. We were offered a little passport to fill with stamps, smiled, and decided that we might as well do it. All of the distilleries we'd researched were in the passport, plus Willett, Limestone Branch, and Silver Trail. Rad! Let's do this!

Also, now that I'm home, I won't be touching booze for at least a couple of weeks.

As we crossed distilleries off of the list, something became evident: we're the first people doing this. The trail itself was only slated to be officially launched on Thursday, October 18. As we collected more stamps, distillers were realizing that we were actually *doing* the trail. Emails started to go out. We'd show up at distilleries and they knew who we were. They gave us secret bottles of as-yet-unreleased small batch bourbons, gave intimate tours, encouraged us to taste fermenting mashes, and we ended up having such an amazing experience.

For example, we did one major Bourbon Trail™ stop at Woodford Reserve, to see what we were missing. There were 30 people on our tour, we all had headphones with little receiver things so we could hear the guide. There was a bus to take us around. It was very streamlined, very organized, and not very intimate.

All of our Craft tours were us and either the master distiller or someone else who had a very close role in producing the spirits. Some were in barns, some were in garages, and some were in "proper" distilling houses. The best part of it was definitely the people we got to meet.

Oh, wait, maybe the best part of it was the weirdness that was the media event at the end of the trail. As the first people to finish the trail (we finished it the day before the official launch), we were invited to the launch party at Silver Trail distillery. Not only were we greeted by the wife of the distiller with a big hug, but Aaron got to hammer shut the bunghole (hehehehehehe) on the distillery's very first bourbon barrel. We were then a major attraction to the people at the launch, approached by all kinds of locals and told all kinds of stories. Minor celebrities for a day? Yes please.

We rounded out our trip with a day in Louisville and two in Indianapolis. Everyone's reaction when we told them we were Canadians on vacation? "What are you doing here?!"

Having a great, weird, awesome, off-the-beaten-path trip full of booze and food.

It was great. I highly recommend it to anyone else looking for a similar kind of trip.

Cheers!

SlutWalk speech prep

Hello all,

Nice to see you. Pull up a chair, we should talk a bit.

See, for the last little while, I've been doing a lot of reading and a lot of preparation for the speech that I am to give at this year's Winnipeg SlutWalk. Considerations of course include my privilege, other people's relationship with pornography, and how we own or reject words like slut, porn, and rape in various ways.

It's been a bit of a challenging few weeks, especially with issues of "legitimacy" of rape, definitions of pregnancy, and abortion debates. I was reflecting on all of this a bit at work with another female coworker, as I made a bit of a quip about legitimacy of abuse claims. She didn't get it, so I explained the situation to her - the whole legitimate rape claim made by Todd Akin. She shook her head and said "Kate, I just don't know how you bother to keep up with this stuff. I just can't be forced to care."

In itself, I suppose I understand. There's a lot going on out there, and it's hard to keep up with everything. Fair enough. But these are very important conversations! These are conversations that have a huge impact on the lives of all of the women in the world. It's easy to forget (being surrounded by positive, open, educated, and concerned people) that not everyone feels that way.

So why am I writing all of this out? Because we need to have these conversations. We need to bring it all out in the open. We need to use the vocabulary, we need to not tip toe around issues that should be called as they are. Words are powerful when we give them meaning. Avoiding using the flat term "rape" leads to terms like "forced sex" or calling the legitimacy of the rape (well, it was only kind of rape, so it's not really rape). Avoiding the terms slut and porn lead to them becoming dirty things that no one discusses. When no one has the conversation, we fool ourselves. We think that no one will have it, but they are - and they are usually not women, and they usually do not have our best interests at heart.

If you are in Winnipeg and have some time on Saturday, September 15, come by the Law Courts at 12pm (noon) sharp! Join us for a walk to the legislative building, where (I believe) I'll be the second speaker up. Adventuress will also be speaking with me. There will also be 7 other speakers, ranging from personal stories to topics from people who work against child trafficking.

Talking about sex and sexuality, normalizing it, and making it positive - that's how we can overcome these boundaries. When people know that a woman's body isn't capable of "shutting that whole thing down" in case of pregnancy from "legitimate" rape (it's rape, just call it rape!!), then having some rich white male idiot on a podium telling us that's the case will be a thing of the past.

I hope.

Did you know that as recently as 1988, the law was rewritten to allow women to have abortions freely? That in 1987, you had to go in front of a panel of doctors and convince them you were either physically threatened by the pregnancy, or mentally unwell to the point that you would be incapable of raising a child. 1988. Most of us were alive and kickin' it by that time. Within our lifetimes, this has existed. Since then, Conservative/Reform/PC parties have tried to take us back to those dark times - of only 24 years ago.

We need to have these conversations.

Hello!

I have to apologize for something. Real hard.

A few months ago, we shot the slumber party sets. That night we also shot Casting Couch and Wash Day. Wash Day was at the end of the night, and we were all kinda tired - so when I saw only around 40 photos in my dropbox, I was all like "Yeah, ok, I guess not all of them were super awesome." I added all the watermarks and resized the photos and went on with my merry day.

A few days later, I opened my dropbox again to find another 35 photos... FROM WASH DAY!? Oh shit.

So. I'm re-releasing Wash Day, with all seventy-odd photos, rather than its original piddly 38. Brynna, the photographer, has received many an apology for this, and here's yet another - I'm sorry!

But the good news for all of you is that you get to see a particularly cute and sassy set with even more pictures, and even more awesome!

Nipples!

The whole set goes live at 12:00pm (noon!) Central Time on Friday, August 24, 2012.

Cheers,
Kate

Has it honestly been a month since my last front page update?

Whew! Time to get back at it. ;)

In happy news, we've been releasing a new set of photos every week for over 4 months now! Awesome! We're happy to deliver new goodness to you every Friday, and are super excited that you're all getting new content and new awesome reasons to visit the site.

Coming up, we will be participating in SlutWalk Winnipeg. If you haven't heard of the SlutWalk movement, perhaps head over here to brush up, then come on back. This year, the organizers are really trying to focus on what the SlutWalk means to different groups of people. Some people say they hate the name and thus refuse to join in. The trouble is, slut shaming is exactly why we need to have this walk - how can we have the walk but not acknowledge the terminology?

I promise I'll be more eloquent when speaking at the Legislative grounds on September 15. You should all attend, come say hi, and we'll chat about how awesome sluts are, and how backward slut shaming is.

In other even better news, we'll be throwing our very first Cherrystems dance party this fall, which blows my mind. It's something we've been wanting to do for a long long time, but I've never had the time or the organization. Now that we have a lovely team of people more dedicated simply to event planning, it's happening! Yay help!

Hope you're having a lovely week!

Television and my life

Lately I've run into a lot of people that are not only shocked that I do not own a TV, nor waste all of my non-working time in front of it, but that laugh at me. That laugh and tell me that I'm strange, and wonder what I must do with my life. I tell them - I'm living it, learning about it, growing in it, interacting with others.

Also watching youtube videos. Hehehehehehehe.
[youtube="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9D05ej8u-gU&feature=share"]

But even with an explanation of what amazing things one can do when simple distraction isn't the main goal of free time, they still laugh, and tell me I'm strange. Is it just me, or is that saddening? And scary? That living and learning and growing have become stigmatic, and turning yourself off in front of reality TV for 4 hours a night (28 hours a week - over a whole day per week!) is admirable?

I do download the occasional TV show and understand that sometimes we do indeed need to turn ourselves off, or watch something for the interesting, well-written entertainment that it is, and I make that clear to these people. They twist my words and then understand that I watch TV just as much, only it's downloaded. Ah good, there's still context within which I can be interacted with!

I usually just let it go there. I think I've been recommended to watch every single show that's on TV except ICE ROADS 2: FUCKING YEAH!?, which, with a title like that, I'd actually be inclined to watch at least one episode of. Trying to explain my love affair with being alive and being a speck on a speck orbiting around a speck in a cluster of orbiting specks otherwise indistinguishable from other specks isn't really something that gets met with any more enthusiasm than the original "You don't have a TV?!"

Making a little post to, I suppose, explain myself in some way?

Pride was an awesome undertaking. It made me so happy and proud to be part of a party that big, and of a movement that positive. It was worth every second of work, and I am so so so thankful for all the help I received.

This week has been a bit hard, though. Monday came, the house was littered with balloons and rainbows, and I found that I needed to actually take a break. I've been on vacation from my day job this week, and I kind of decided to make it a real vacation - by accident.

Life kind of slapped me in the face post-pride. My body made it clear that it needed to get back to basics, and my mind needed to focus. A friend in my life sadly passed away a week before pride, which made things all the more challenging. I've been experiencing pushes from people who usually aren't big parts of my life, telling me why the things I'm doing are wrong, why the things I believe are wrong, and why I am wrong in most ways. Negativity tried really really hard to derail everything I've been building, and then Kyle died on top of that.

So this past week, I hardly touched Cherrystems. We all need time off, we all need to take breaks and get back to life every now and again. Even as just a baby of a site, Cherrystems does take up a lot of time. Even just the cleanup after pride took me 5 days to finish.

And I went to a funeral for a friend who was only 26. I caught up with old friends that I used to hang out with a lot more back when Kyle lived in Winnipeg (he moved to Montreal two years ago). There was a definite falling out between Kyle, myself, and another old friend, and we hadn't spoken in two years. Does that make it easier to know that he's dead? Not in any way. In fact, it makes me wonder what I can do to make amends with people who believe pettiness is pinnacle of life. There's been negativity coming at me from all sides, how much am I supposed to take, and when does walking away become the only option? Then if they die young like Kyle did, how do I deal with knowing I just stopped putting effort in? Is that ok?

I'll work through it, but for the moment, it's back to the priorities.

Naked people.
Sex toys.
Love.

RIP buddy, even if we weren't besties.

What a great week this has been for us at Cherrystems. Not only are we planning our float for Pride here in Winnipeg, but we also found out that Fleshbot has reviewed us! It's our first big "press" since we had our two-page spread in the Winnipeg Free Press, so understandably we're a little excited.

In other awesome news, I've been partnering with Charlie Spats post-FPAs to create the Canadian Queer Porn Network. This is a tool for anyone involved in/interested in Canadian-made smut. Unlike the US, which has San Francisco as a hub, Canada lacks a hub for queer porn. What we're doing here at CS does fall under the queer blanket, though we're often pigeonholed as being straight, and we're excited to be a part of such a diverse network. You can use the network to learn about other Canadian projects, sites, models, performers, crew, and casting calls. You can join the list by following these instructions.

And now on to this week's set! Skinartia's back with a end-of-winter outdoor set, Goosebumps - shot by DaynaDanger on a fire escape in Winnipeg's Exchange District. The trees hadn't yet gotten their leaves, but the snow was gone, and we've all been itching to get back outside.

Here's a couple of preview snaps to get you excited.

Want more of Skinartia's lovely boobs? Join!

And if you're in Winnipeg tonight and looking for something to do, DaynaDanger is having an art opening tonight! Go to it!

Cheers!

Fuck yes.

We did it! We made our first non-trivial donation! Osborne House have been on the receiving end of our profits, and we hope to be able to extend that same kind of help to other organizations, and in larger amounts!

Osborne House is a shelter for women and children who have been the victims of domestic abuse. As some of you Winnipeggers may know, they have been in need of funding for a couple of months now. While fundraisers are being organized and the community is banding together, it's still not quite enough. A quick google search for Osborne House turns up basically only articles relating to its inability to take in more women and children.

The donation that we made was small, $315, but it's what we could manage at the moment. It's also our very first monetary donation, and we hope that as time goes on, more and more people will feel good about what we're doing, and good about the effect body and sex positivity have on their lives. Join today as a great way to help our communities while exposing yourself to pansexual awesomness and

We're also SO excited to announce that we here at CS are diversifying in terms of model genders. We've already represented the LGBQ* of LGBTQ*, but now we're proud to step that all the way up to LGBTQ* with the addition of one of our newest models. He'll be debuting in the coming month, so keep your eyes peeled! He's a completely stunning feast for the eyes and, for those of you lucky enough to attend a seminar where he speaks or just meet him and have a conversation, the ears. Also the heart. He's so amazing.

Thank you all so so much for the support! We're presently working on a project with another shelter - a boudoir shoot night.

ALSO! Enjoy these preview photos from today's set!

FPAs, best week ever, part deux.

So! I left off at the Feminist Porn Awards Gala.

We headed there early to mingle, drink a bit, and break the networking ice. Getting into the scene was far easier than I expected. Every single person I met was so nice, so supportive, and so positive. I think the same goes with everyone met by Dayna, Brynna, and Marie. I'd be shocked if that wasn't the case.

Anyhow! Imagine my surprise to see Elvira Kurt walk out on stage to host the awards! How I managed to miss that, I have no idea. She's been making me laugh for years and years, and I didn't even know she was hosting?! I guess I was caught up in too much of the business to read too much about the event. Thinking back, I think that's probably the best way it could have been. The moment she walked out with that trademark screechy voice, I was floored. The moment was worth a million forgetfulnesses. ;)

The gala itself was amazing. The entertainment was unparalleled, diverse, sexy, provocative, and thrilling. Among the performers were DiverseCity dance group, Olive-or-Oliver, Buck Angel (hello striptease, complete with hot lube action!), Coco La Creme, and Elvira herself. It was definitely an entertaining evening.

This was also the night that we pulled out press kits. Yeah yeah, they were a bit bulky. We realize this now - but this was our very first time doing something like this. Perhaps next time I'll make an online press kit with a simple fancy card to hand out to link to it. Learning curve! We're such babies in the scene, but it's honest and I love it.

The gala ended and we caught up with the man who invited us to the whole event in the first place, Buck Angel. We got some amazing shots with him and his lovely wife, which are posted below along with others.

The whole night was eye-opening, and made us realize that we should indeed expand into video. We've been considering it for 3 months now, and I've decided to make the move. We're also working on a sister site, one that's more explicit. Why a sister site? Because Cherrystems has been in the works now for 6 years. We've been launched in this state for 2 years, gaining steam and growing everyday based on who we are. To suddenly decide that CS was something more explicit wouldn't be fair to the people who joined because it was something softer. But at the same time, I have to acknowledge that I've grown and matured, and that there is absolutely nothing wrong with wanting to be *more* naked and *more* sexual.

So we're going to do it. We decided that night at the gala. It's a done deal.

Fuck yeah.

Anyhow! Saturday was spent touring a bit more of Toronto for the ladies. For myself, I had a meeting with the lovelies at Fuze Toys to finally meet them and hammer out some of the last details of our impending partnership. If any of their toys look appealing to you, contact me! I'll be heading up their sales and online marketing starting May 1! Holy shit! Canadian porn leads to Canadian butt plugs!

Saturday night, however, was the most amazing night of all. We went to Oasis Aqualounge, and I admit that we were all a bit nervous. We've got bath facilities in Winnipeg, but this wasn't Winnipeg. This turned out to be the most amazing thing. So classy, so clean, so sexy, and so unintimidating. Swimming naked next to people I've adored for years, hottubbing with Charlie Spats and Courtney Trouble, watching live porn (!!!!!!!!).

So I'll end this blog post with a thank you. A huge thank you to every single person who shook our hand, who treated us well, who offered partnerships, and even who just smiled our way. Starting out is never easy, but in this scene it's certainly been easier - something we couldn't know until we tried.

And now, it's time to play with my new Lelo toy and get down to some post-trip action with my partner (our programmer), Aaron. Home sweet home.

Here's the photos! Have a great night!

Our first night in town was a bit on the side of super awesome.

Subway fun with the CS crew.

Getting there is half the fun. ;)

Dayna and Marie are babes.

Up.

Dayna loves good lighting.

So I got a bit sick of posing.
The Most Amazing Week.

I'm not going to call it the Feminist Porn Awards from here on. I'm going to call it the most amazing week ever.

This week, Dayna, Brynna, Marie, and I made the trek from Winnipeg to Toronto for the most amazing week ever. We arrived mostly spaced out on different flights on Wednesday afternoon, and immediately found ourselves swept up by the sexy and completely fantastic Lexi Tronic. She is absolutely amazing. She welcomed Marie and in to her home for a dinner party prior to getting the week of the FPAs underway. Her hosting skills were amazing, and she offered up an infinite amount of great advice for us. I'm not sure if I was able to express to her how grateful I was, but I sure hope I did.

The rest of Wednesday was kind of a bit of a blur involving the Hen House, Brass Rail, and amazing people - VIP rooms, champagne, lap dances, and more. I honestly have no recollection of getting back to our hotel that evening. Kids, don't follow my lead.

Thursday it was down to business, once Kate was done throwing up. The team assembled our awesome press kits, toured around Toronto a little, including a stop at a small favourite restaurant, Grapefruit Moon. The night featured the Public.Provocative.Porn screenings of nominated films from the awards. Unfortunately, we didn't make it with our need to get press kits ready and prime ourselves for meeting such amazing people. Fortunately, we did make it out to the afterparty. Courtney Trouble, Dylan Ryan, James Darling, Jiz Lee, and more and more and more!! All in a tiny little hole-in-the-wall bar. We definitely needed to get over our bit of shyness, and this was a great way to do it.

Friday. The amazingly important, super awesome awards show. It lived up to everything I was expecting and more! We arrived early so that we could mingle, get press kits out, talk to people, and really settle in before things got really underway. It was swanky! There were hors d'oeuvres, cocktails, porn stars, incredible individuals, and an atmosphere to die for. The gala itself was held at Berkley Church. I know, I know. You're probably wondering about that. Don't worry, it's been decommissioned and looks amazing inside!

How I managed to miss out on the identity of the host for so long, I have no idea, but it made the moment that much better when Elivra Kurt walked out onto the stage. Holy shit!

The rest of the awards? I'll tell you all about it after I've had a good night of sleep and a bit of time to upload the photos.. :)

Love you!

As luck would have it, Friday the 13th did have an effect here at Cherrystems. I have been on the road most of the last two weeks, and somehow completely lost track of time. As a result, today's set previewed 11 hours late because I was convinced that today was actually Thursday.

When the realization hit this morning, I jumped out of bed and plopped right down in front of the computer. Right to work!

The awesome news is that it's up and visible now, so check it out! We're welcoming yet another beautiful model to the site, Colette. She approached me with the idea to shoot a Theda Bara-inspired set, with hopes for doing it outside while there was still snow on the ground. As luck would have it, the Tuesday we picked was just before the big thaw, but was still above 0 so that she wasn't completely frozen. Ian and Adventuress made the trudge out to a secluded forest and made this magic happen.

As a bit of an apology for the lateness of the posting, we'll be uploading a very special video later today.

Enjoy your Friday!

New! Toy reviews!

Hey everyone! It's time to introduce a brand new bit of fun to the
articles section, which we can all agree has been long-neglected.

We recently started putting out feelers to see if we could partner up
with toy manufacturers that we love in hopes of reviewing their
product. Here in Winnipeg, we don't always have access to the highest
quality toys in stores. While there are a couple of shops that carry
top-quality stuff, it's few and far between. That leaves us to buy our
vibrators, sleeves, and toys in general on the internet.

But how can you know if what you see online is actually as awesome as it could be?

OH YEAH REVIEWS!!

So here's our very first review, of Fun Factory's Tango vibe as reviewed by Kate.

As usual, things have been busy. This time, however, there's a new addition to the whole CS clan - and I don't just mean our new model, DavidStone. I mean that my best friend, Meesha, who has seen me through the whole process of making Cherrystems, popped out her very first baby! He joined the world on Monday, and I can't be more excited for both of them (her fella, who I've also known and loved since high school).

I've got a lot of stuff in the works for CS in May, but I'm trying to just write a kind of personal blog here. Clearly, I am failing.

Also going to start reviewing alcohol for the Articles section. I figure that if I travel the country/continent all the time, I should probably let you all in on the microbrews and drinking traditions of each place I go to. Why not?

Cherrystems is undergoing a certain kind of website-type rebirth. We're taking all of the advice that's been given to us over the last few months of awesomeness, and making ourselves even awesomer.

We've seen the introduction of the Articles section, which is going over insanely well. So many of you are looking to submit articles! If you're interested in doing so, you have to go through me (Kate), so fire off your article to kate@cherrystems.com. Articles are basically blog-type entries written by users that are in line with what Cherrystems is all about. Healthy living, sex, music, lifestyles, and much more. If you have anything you want to tell the world, you have two methods at your disposal. You can use your blog to post anything you like, anytime. If you think you want it in the articles section, you'll have to email me to see if it's something CS would like to back.

All blogs and articles are now visible to non-members! Yay! A lot of people have been asking for more free content, and we've been making the effort to diversify and offer more content for those who aren't sure about getting a membership just yet.

Check out today's article, written by the lovely Andrea, about getting enough water and the positive effects that it has on the body. Forget fad cleanses and other bullsnap - plain, simple water is the best way to go.

Hey there,

Lousy Smarch is well underway, with its weird weather and longer days. I do like the longer days, but could go without the flooding and slush.

Anyhow. On to much more exciting things - including nudity!

These last two weeks have been intense. I have finally managed to stay healthy for more than 2 weeks at a time, and as such have been putting all kinds of work into Cherrystems. Meetings, shoots, organizing, events, and more. In the last 3 weeks alone, there have been 6 new sets shot! 6!! We're just waiting on them to be edited, and then we'll be on a new set release every week! Yay!

We'll also be introducing you to two brand new models, one fella and one lady. There will also be a brand new two-lady set, another from Skinartia, and two from the lovely BettyBitch, who is also our featured model this week.

If you're looking for anything to do this Friday, why not head on down to Aqua Books (which you should do all the time anyway) to watch me chat a bit with owner Kelly Hughes on his live-audience talk show, Kelly Hughes Live. You'll also get to hear from Winnipeg's burlesque darling, Miss LaMuse, and Miss LonelyHearts (Maureen Scurfield). Sexy times to be had!

You'll also want to stop in at the Black and Blue Ball here in Winnipeg on April 2. Cherrystems will have a table with extra awesome goodies, where you can learn more and even buy a print! There will also be awesome promotions for those looking to purchase a membership, so stop in! Fetish attire only!

Cheers!
Kate

Hi!

It's been a while since my last *official* update, though both myself and programmer man Aaron have been updating the site itself like madpeople. Luckily, it's all done.

Also lucky? Having a brand new model to introduce all of you to! She just shot her very first set on Saturday evening at a great Winnipeg landmark. We're so excited to be bringing new people on board, and love the enthusiasm everyone's been sending out.

We're also pleased that photographer DaynaDanger will be returning to Winnipeg for a spell in mid March to visit and to shoot naked people. Hooray! Now all we need is her partner, Bee, to come home too. :) I have such fun with those girls.

We're also planning a group shoot to address some of the issues that came up long ago during the time of our Winnipeg Free Press article. There were a bunch of negative sentiments expressed, including that I have misshapen breats, that some people are too flat, some too large, etc. A bunch of us are getting together, the tall and the small, to show just how happy we are about those little differences in bodies. We could have gotten super mad about name-calling and negativity, but instead we decided to roll our eyes and continue being awesome. Good call, I think.

In the last bit of news, some of you may notice that the Customer From Hell set that was recently posted has since been taken down. After long and careful consideration, I decided that it broke too many of my own rules to have up on the site. I made the rules, and I broke them. Apologies to anyone who was disappointed in me for posting set, but you can now know that I learned a lesson about set publishing from all of it. Everything is just going to be a lot more transparent around here in terms of photoset expectations from us. Capiche? Excellent.

It's time for me to get back to work, but before that, I'm changing the feature set for the week. It's late, but we also didn't have new material for this week. So here's me with pink hair.

Cheers!
Kate

Hey there,

As those close to me already know, I work as a flight attendant. It's my day job. I dig going to various places in Canada and North America, meeting new people, doing new things, etc.

Working in travel is the reason I'm able to do something like this on the side. The days that I'm out of town, I'm out of town. When I'm in town, sometimes it's only for a day, but other times it's for 4-7 days. It's time off like that that allows me the opportunity to give Cherrystems to the internet. As much as I sometimes hate the situations I encounter at work (customer service is customer service, afterall), I'm happy to be in the industry.

I finished my degree while working on the trains (Via Rail), traveled, built up the site and its support system, and more. I'm so incredibly fortunate to have gotten a job where I was able to follow my dreams.

Thought I'd just put that out there as a positive personal note.

Cheers, and I hope your life is where it needs to be. :)
Kate

I also have a new schedule to announce. Set previews hit our Facebook page on Thursdays in the form of 3 preview pictures. Sets are featured on Fridays. That much stays the same. To add to that, however, we're adding featured article days. These will be making their way to the front page soon, but until then can be found under the articles tab at the top of the page.

We've been talking about them for months now. Articles. What do we mean by articles?

We mean a section of the site featuring writing that is hand-picked by Cherrystems. Yes, there are blogs for users. Those blogs can contain anything the user wants (so long as it's respectful, etc). The articles, however, are regularly updated blogs of their own - that happen to adhere to a certain theme.

We're debuting the section for the very first time today, and featuring Kevrock666's blog, titled "Kev's Cassette Club". In this lil' blog of his, he'll be going through his old cassette collection at random, reviewing what he finds on a weekly basis. Sounds good? Great.

Keep you eyes peeled for more articles as the week progresses, and if you'd like to submit an idea for an article/blog of your own, don't hesitate to drop a line!

Hey there,

Just making an update to let you all know of a little bit of donation goodness that's going on here at Cherrystems. While we're still not at a point where enough income is rolling into the site to make monetary donations, we do have a few things to offer. We'll be sending off some merch items and free memberships for a raffle held by Voices for Planned Parenthood at UCF.

We've also provided support for derby teams in the form of membership coupons and buttons in the past, but this is the first step toward our goal of supporting pro-choice organizations and bettering the sexual lives of people everywhere.

If you feel like making a donation toward the organization - be it monetary or an item for their raffle, fire off an email to voxucf@gmail.com. They'll let you know what you can do.

Likewise, if you are part of an organization that could use Cherrystems' support, let me know at kate@cherrystems.com.

New model application system

Hey there,

Just thought I'd let you all know what we'll be rolling out in the next few weeks.

We've been doing a lot of reflection lately to see why things don't move along as quickly as they should. We found one definite bottleneck - shoot scheduling. As of right now, people contact me, I get back to them, we talk a bit, ideas get formed, I talk to a photographer, I get back to the model, the model gets back to me, I get back to the photographer.. and so on and so on. This process can take as long as a month to work out. Clearly, this isn't working. While I do love the personal interaction that I get to have with everyone, I'd like to keep that on the side so that I actually get to spend time with the models, rather than spending time emailing them.

The new model application system will guide you through a very easy-to-follow path, starting at identification (proof of age) submission, agreement form submission, set planning and photographer contacts, right up to set acceptance! I'll still be available for one-on-one chats and advice, but putting the process into the models' hands means you all get more freedom, get to shoot your sets faster, and I get more time to make Cherrystems as great as it can be.

Phew!

We start work on this whole project this weekend, so hopefully we'll be seeing it roll out by February.

I couldn't be more excited for the creativity this is going to pour out of this! Yess!

Birthweek and related good stuff

This week has been crazy busy. Forget that, the last 4 weeks have been crazy busy.

I ended up having to miss Christmas because of my job, which was overall a much easier thing than I'd anticipated. I was away from the 20th-31st of December, arriving home midday on NYE. I've realized that I actually would have hated missing New Year's, and that postponing Christmas really wasn't a big deal. So there's something interesting about Kate?

Since arriving home, I celebrated replacement Christmas on the 1st, went to a friend's replacement Christmas party on the 2nd, had houseguests from the 4th-5th, celebrated my birthday with friends at the delicious Peasant Cookery on the 5th, then collapsed on the 6th. The 7th, I caught an early flight out to Montreal to finish celebrating my birthday. Montreal is my old stomping ground, so rather than conjuring images of debauchery and flowing alcohol, picture more sleeping on a futon in a basement in the suburbs, having quality time with the fim fam.

We did get a room in the city for two nights, though. It ended up being pretty wonderful. We took the AMT train into the city proper on Saturday, and when we arrived and Lucien L'Allier station, I looked out the window and noticed a building that looked like a B&B I'd seen rave reviews of on the internet. Since we were already considering time alone away from the fam, I suggested we go check it out to see if it actually was the B&B. Upon walking in the door of the office, I knew I wanted to stay there. Luckily, they had rooms available. Right next to the Bell Centre, on game night, and there are rooms available? At a reasonable rate? You have to be kidding. So we booked in, and were allowed to head up to the room right away. It was so awesome! Exposed brick wall, private balcony, charming decor, everything was perfect. We didn't want to stay in just any sterile hotel, and we're glad we happened upon this place. It was the Auberge Les Bons Matins. The breakfast in the morning was spectacular. Nothing like fresh croissants with brie and la vache qui rit, homemade jam, fresh bagels, fruit galore, and eggs benedict made to order with real hollandaise (you can tell when it's fake). They came around first with a wine glass full of fresh squeezed OJ and a platter with fresh, hot waffles and french toast - with freshly made passion fruit and lime custards to top them with. HOLY CRAP SO GOOD.

So seriously, stay there. We had a comfort room, which is pretty much a regular hotel room in its amenities, and it was $129/night. Great location right across from the Lucien L'Allier metro, beside the Bell Centre, and with everything you need right near by. Plus breakfast for two. And an amazing room. Oh, and complimentary port in the main room. We definitely enjoyed a couple of glasses of various ports while reading the paper one evening. So awesome, that place.

Otherwise, Aaron left on Sunday evening so he could get back to his 9-5er, while I opted to stay one more night and see a friend's show at Casa Del Popolo. It was a great show, a good time, and it was super nice to see friends - seeing as I missed their annual migration back to Winnipeg for the holidays.

Now I'm home. I met with a new prospective model last night, and she seems just peachy. Hopefully we'll be introducing her within a month or so. I also have a lot more behind the scenes CS work to do this week as we prepare for some big changes. The joys of behind-the-scenes work.

Anyway. Have a great day, enjoy the lengthening days, and see ya later!

Happy New Year, everyone. Welcome to 2011. Hopefully the first week of it has treated you all as awesomely as it can.

I could blather on about all the new goodies we're working on, but that will just have to wait 'til February. Also, I'm sure you're all here for a much better reason - this week's new set, Pop by Skinartia.

Not only is this set eye catching because of the pretty lady in it, it's also quite possibly the most brightly-coloured set that we've ever featured. I mean seriously, look at those colours!

We actually shot this set as a kind of response to some of the negative remarks we've encountered in our days out on the internet. Some folks seem to think that Skinartia's all dark and gloomy, having done two sets with her gasmask already. We found this to be pretty neat - two photographers' interpretation of the same theme. But people are hard to please, so we decided we'd do something completely different. Trouble is, dark and moody IS Skinartia - especially when you team her up with the talented MisterIan behind the lens.

Check out the set to see what happens!

Good evening,

For those of us up here in Canada (and many in other parts of the world), it's wintertime. The snow is/has fallen, and the temperatures have followed suit. Luckily for us, that doesn't mean that our models have gotten shy of disrobing in the out of doors. :)

This week's new set, Snowy, is by Adventuress, and was shot by our newest photographer, Existential. It's just perfect - the rosy cheeks, and the cheekiness.

Enjoy this wonderful new set with a nice cup of cocoa. You may find the cup heats itself after seeing the photos, though. Be warned!

Happy Friday, everyone!

There are a lot of changes about to happen, the first of which start today. Our set release time is changing! Clearly, it's still Fridays, but now it's going to be at the stroke of midnight (Central time) on Fridays. This means your entire Friday can be full of nudity. Hooray!

We'll also be posting a weekly set preview for new sets on our Facebook page on Thursdays. Pretty rad, huh?

Today's brand new set is from a brand new model, so let me be the first to introduce her. Jo, everyone. Everyone, Jo! Check it out, leave a comment, and enjoy your weekend!

Holy crap! There are so many things in the works around here at Cherrystems, I don't even know where to start.

We had a lovely new model officially join our ranks today. Her name is Jo, and she'll be debuting next week. We've also got some hot mountain fun to share soon, and even more new stuff to bust out.

Seriously, it's gonna be awesome. If I write more, I might give away the secrets. Shh.

We're also pleased to announce that we shot two new sets over the last couple of weeks - the spoils of which you'll be seeing shortly. Hooray!

That's right, I'm about to move back to Winnipeg! Hooray!

In other CS news, we shot an awesome new set last weekend in Banff. Can't wait to unveil it!

We've also been getting an awesome influx of applications. Keep 'em coming, we'll be able to schedule more and more shoots in the coming weeks as we get settled back into our usual routine.

We'll also be starting up a regular volunteer staff, so that things get done quicker around here. I've finally realized that if Cherrystems is to become a giant awesome force in the world of nudity, it's going to take an entire team.

The positions I'll be looking to fill are:
-Online promotions/strategy
-Model Application contact
-Events

If you feel like you'd like to help us out in any of those areas, fill out the Contact Us form, and we'll get to talking. Due to the nature of the promotions, we'll be looking for people in Winnipeg.

I'll be randomly changing out this week's featured set, as we don't have anything new right now! Stay tuned, though. Shit's about to get mountainous. I mean hot.

Hey you! Yeah, you. Did you know that Cherrystems also accepts male models? 'Cause we definitely do. In creating the concept of CS, we wanted to let everyone who wanted to be included have the chance to be included. Of course, that immediately meant to me that I could not draw a line between genders.

Here to prove/show it all to you is Ed in his set, Afternoon.

In other news, one of our photographers has been living in Banff for the last few months, arting it up. I'll be heading out there this weekend to catch up on her work, hang out, and probably cause some trouble. CS trouble is the best trouble.

I'll also be done what I came to Calgary to do in a week and a bit, so I'll be returning to Winnipeg to get cracking on CS v2.0.1 (point one). :)

Have a great weekend!

Hey everyone,

Just to let you know, we're having a bit of trouble with some of our email accounts this week. We're migrating the site over to a different hosting account, which has kind of muddled things up a bit.

Point is, if you've sent in a model app or comment/concern to kate@cherrystems.com since October 27, you may want to try resending it after November 3, or commenting here.

We're aiming to get most of the migration work done at weird hours of the day when traffic is lowest, but if you do happen to experience any downtime as a user, fire off a comment here and I'll add some time to your account.

Here we are on another lovely Friday, presenting to you a brilliant new model, Adventuress! Check out her very first set, Bookworm, and leave a note to let her know what you think! All those books, it's hard not to love it just in its concept. And then you get the amazing lady along with them. Win win.

The set itself was shot on location upstairs at the wonderful Winnipeg establishment, Aqua Books, and we can't thank them enough for letting us shoot there.

What in the hell?!

I'm living in Calgary for a bit, and am a little confused by how quickly it managed to sneak up on me.

This week, we're featuring a classic set, Classy Dame by Casey. This was one of the very first sets we shot for CS, years ago - before the site really even had ground to stand on. But here it is, being all extra wonderful for us today.

We're also happy to introduce you to a brand new model, who recently shot a set for CS. Her name is Adventuress, and her first set will be debuting the first Friday of November.

As for next week, stay tuned for a spooky new set from Samara, just in time for halloween!

Hope you're all having a great week, and seriously - if anyone knows anything good to do in Calgary, let me know. I've finally gotten all settled in, but have yet to start meeting new people. I'll be going to see the Einstein/Darwin exhibition at the science centre tomorrow, which should be awesome. Because Einstein and Darwin were awesome.

Go read Galapagos by Kurt Vonnegut, by the way. Just finished it.

Can you tell I'm starved for conversation from the move?

Industrial Fridays

Hey there,

This week we're featuring another set from the days of yore. Come and visit Arachnia's awesome set, Industrial!

Since we're getting a lot of new traffic around here after the On7 article, I should take a moment to explain a few things. First off, Fridays are the day that new things get posted around here. We're still a pretty new site, run entirely by volunteers. That means that, sometimes, we don't have anything completely new to show you some weeks. Instead of just leaving the same set up for two weeks at a time, we feature a "classic" set, to remind everyone what's around. It's not ideal, but we used to have a one set a month release schedule that we couldn't even keep up to. The moral of the story is - we're getting to a point where we can release sets more frequently. Yay!

All that said, next week we'll be introducing you to another brand new model! Hooray!

If you're interested in modeling for the site and coming forward with the sexiness that is you, no matter where you fit in, just drop by the model application page. It doesn't take long, and can be one of the most uplifting things you do!

Have a fantastic weekend, everyone. Catch ya soon!

Awwright! So, the Freep article got published. While it didn't describe us and what we want to do very well at all, it still got a lot of traffic to the site - where we have accurate information on the site.

The comments we received about the site were inspiring. There are some things that people commented on that are completely valid, and I'm going to work 10x harder to get the site to the place it needs to be.

I do love attention. Honestly, I don't think I'd do this if I didn't. That doesn't mean that I can't have good intentions, AND follow through on them.

So thanks, everyone, for the awesome attention we've been given. Good and bad. It's really ensured that I have my eye on the prize. :)

Free Press Article

Hey everyone,

You may have noticed an article published today on Cherrystems in the Free Press' On7 publication. We're super excited for the attention, but just wanted to clarify a few of the terms.

We were asking not to be referred to as "porn", as that carries negative connotations for a lot of people. But that seems to be in the title of the article itself. Yipes! Cherrystems.com is a website that features pictures of men and women in various states of undress - usually alone. Women are generally only topless, and there is no sex on Cherrystems.com. There's sensuality, sexiness, and body acceptance, but we're definitely not "porn". We're celebrating nudity and the positive things that come of it. We're all adults with "real" jobs that we love. And we also love being happy with our bodies. That's more what the site is about - which I don't think really came through.

We accept sets from men and women of any persuasion - the article makes it seem like we only take alternatively styled people. We don't. We want to be representative of what's out on the street - which CAN include tattoos, coloured hair, or completely average, normal people.

The site is managed by me, Kate, by myself. My boyfriend codes the site, but does not touch management. He simply supports me, as anyone would support their live-in partner.

Also, the article mentions that we're fashioned after a site. This isn't the case, as I told the reporter. We're similar to other websites in that we feature naked people. So in that way, yes - we're similar to a lot of things. I suppose it's impossible to shake the idea that we're a ripoff site, but we're not. We're coming from our own place and have our own priorities.

Otherwise, I hope you're all enjoying your days! We're definitely super stoked about the attention! Hooray!

Cheers,
Kate.

Hey everyone,

First off, the usual happy Friday is in order. This week has dragged on for us, but here's hoping that it hasn't for you.

On to the important news: The reason we're all here today! We're welcoming a brand new model to the site, Stiletto! Drop in on her set, Soft and Strong to see this amazing lady explore both sides of herself. Fuck yeah! We hope you all enjoy it, and that it sends you happily into your weekend!

Cheers!
Kate.

PS - Don't forget that CS will be temporarily relocating to Calgary, Alberta for most of October and November. If you're out there, drop me a line! It'd be great to get to know some people there.

Hi!

A classic set is being featured this week, and couldn't fit the mood around here lately any better. Join Kitten, all bubbly and bound, in her cute and playful set of photos, Apple of My Eye.

Here at Cherrystems, we're done the backend of the new Articles section, just polishing up the front-facing part, and are planning a brief relocation to Calgary, AB! A little change from the usual Winnipeg HQ, but that's what makes life interesting.

Otherwise, a cold has hit CSHQ pretty bad this week, so I'll likely be spending this weekend catching as many Zzz's as possible... Even though I'll be spending it in Northern Manitoba. Brr!

Have a great weekend, everyone!

This Friday's update is about an hour and a half late, and for that I apologize. We've been inundated with good news at CSHQ, which started at about 4pm and hasn't really stopped. The lateness of the set release can be entirely blamed on my jumping up and down.

MOVING ON.

Today's new set is from the ever-stunning Skinartia, and is dubbed Smoke. She's busted out her gas mask one more time for this smoker (ohh!) of a set, and the results are amazing. Teamed up with DaynaDanger, the two created something entirely creepy. Watch for Skinartia's eye peeking through that mask! Chillingly sexy!

So yeah, check it out and leave a comment!

But most importantly, rock the fuck out this weekend. It's been too amazing here not to do the same.

Later!

What a Friday it has been. In fact, what a week it has been!

Due to technical crappiness, we're unable to put one of our new sets up today. Grr! Dammit! But as a consolation prize, here's a reminder of how absolutely gorgeous Andrea is, in her set Bathing Beauty. I can't help but think of two things when I look at this set: 1) how amazingly relaxing the cabin was that we were staying in while the photos were being shot, and 2) how hilarious this lady is. She's about 10x as cute and bubbly in person as this set is, and I hope you keep enjoying it! We'll be back to new sets next week!

While I wish I had the gumption to type out more, I really don't. I've been working on layouts and wading through legalese all afternoon, and nothing sounds better than a nice nap.

Not to mention that I've made 5L of apple juice, 2 apple pies, and 2L of applesauce today. Whew!

Hey cats,

This Friday we're featuring an oldie but a greatie, a set by VixenMassacre. Follow the storyline that we've all been through at one point in our lives in her set, Beautiful Disaster. Getting ready to go out, but nothing is going right. The minutes are ticking by, and memories are flooding into your head. Eventually, you just crack and say a big "forget it!" to leaving the house.

At the end of the day, we're all worth way more than we give ourselves credit for - even in the face of a terrible day, month, or year.

Behind the scenes this week, we're gearing up to change things up and really take the project further. Thanks for all of your patience through everything! We have two new sets from new models in the queue, including Stiletto, who we absolutely can't wait to introduce to you! We'd introduce you to the other new model too, but she hasn't picked a name yet! That's how new she is. We've also got another new set from Skinartia, but you'll have to wait! Good things do come from that, I hear.

So it's no secret that we're from Canada. Our pasty white skin gives us away.

Recently, I took a cruise with some recently-married friends. We went to the Caribbean, had a bunch of tequila, and well, I lost my clothes! Or rather, I specifically took them off on our balcony while docked in Cozumel, Mexico.

Check out this week's neat little mini-set by Kate, aptly titled Tan Lines. It was taken after a long day on beach beds in the Mexican sun in August. I was just modeling my new one-piece swimsuit that day, without realizing the hilarious effects it would have on my tan lines. Luckily, I didn't end up burned to a crisp like many of my traveling companions!

Hope you're all having a wonderful weekend!

Cruise

So! Some people may have wondered why CS was on a bit of a quasi-hiatus for a couple of weeks. Truth be told - I went on vacation. A cruise vacation, no less. It was pretty awesome. We definitely took some photos on board, and hopefully they're of good enough quality to use as even a mini-set on the site here. The blue ocean and palm trees in the background are almost too much to pass up, but the photos were definitely only shot with a point-and-shoot. We'll see.

As many of you know, the CS network is getting pretty big. More models, more photographers, more members. I've been up to a lot of behind-the-scenes stuff, and am hoping to have the site flow a lot better in the coming weeks. The new About Us section is almost ready, and the Articles pages are just waiting for a few more submissions before we send them out into the deep, dark internet.

New shoots are on the burner, getting the little bubbles that precede boiling. We've got some awesome stuff to release in the coming weeks, too. Including the introduction of two new models! Gee whiz!

I bought a blow-up globe yesterday while out shopping with Aaron's mother. I keep it by my desk now, in an effort to remind myself that the world is my oyster.

We just bought another ad in BUST magazine, which I'm hopeful that the site will also be able to pay for. So that you all know, we're almost headed toward making our first donations. When we do, we'll take photos of it. As for right now, CS is still in the hole - but we've only been relaunched since mid January, only had Visa processing for a few months, and just started advertising! We're climbing out of the hole, and relying on my income less and less (which feels awesome). We definitely have all the amazing volunteers that have helped along the way to thank for that!

Stay tuned for more awesomeness than ever before.

Good morning, 'stemmers.

Just wanted to update everyone that we're back in town and back on the good stuff - scheduling shoots, designing layouts, and generally being awesome.

This means we'll be back to a Friday feature schedule again. Back to starting your weekend off right.

In the meantime, if you're looking for some interesting reading, head over to Feminisnt (NSFW). It's a great blog I happened upon on the suggestion of good friend and makeup/hair artist, Coco. Give it a read, it's really awesome stuff.

Hello!

This week's new set is a first for Cherrystems. Watch as the beautiful Skinartia shows off her brand new (to her) vintage gas mask in her new set, Chemical Wasteland. The moods in this set just blow my mind, and I'm amazed how much emotion can come through without facial expressions. Check it out, your mind will be blown by this lady.

In other news, we're making a last call for submissions to the Articles section of the site. That means it's the last call to be rewarded with free memberships for your writing. We've already got several people working away at their keyboards, so why not add yourself to the list? Email kate@cherrystems.com for more information!

I'd also like to add that everyone emailing me should be sure to check their junk/trash boxes in their email clients. It's all too often that someone thinks I haven't replied to them when really, I've replied a few times and they've all been caught by a spam filter. Failing that, leave me another way to contact you!

Enjoy your weekend! I'm enjoying mine in sweet Miami, Florida! The hell? We definitely just got off a cruise, and let me tell you - I'm excited to share a little of the spoils of the trip with you... In the near future. :)

This week, we're filling a request to see more of MissRuby's set, Baking Beauty. Here it is in all its awesome glory. :)

Hey out there,

First, I'd like to extend a welcome to all the new traffic. A little intro is that we're a nudie website with paid memberships, focused on showcasing people as they are, personality included. Here's a little list of just a few of the many things we are:

-Run by a lady
-Run entirely by volunteers
-Incorporating as a not-for-profit
-Canadian
-All about equality
-Sex-positive
-LGBT* friendly
-Awesome.

Well, I think that last point is true. But ya know.

Anyhow! To suit this week's feel, I'm bringing back an old set to the featured section. Andrea's Knits! is back this week for all those new members who haven't had the pleasure of feasting their eyes on a seriously amazing knitter. She's so lovely, AND I have news for you! She'll be shooting another new set very soon! Awesome. I hate that I use so many exclamation points, but really. Excited.

We've also been getting a lot of new sets and new models around these parts, so expect a lot of amazing newness in the near future - including a colourful addition, a shoot on a boat, and a seriously sexy homage to chemical warfare.

Oh man. It's gonna be awesome. Click here to sign up!

So many pictures to take, so little time!

Things are really picking up here now that summer is in full swing. Our BUST ad is printed, which makes me the happiest. Something about having an ad in a magazine you love is just wonderful.

Expanding parts of the site daily, and working on a whole lot more new stuff. Awesome. Can't wait!

In other news, my life's going quite nicely. I'll be taking off on a cruise shortly, which is pretty freaking exciting. Maybe I'll fire out a set on the boat. That would be pretty freaking rad.

I did an interview for the Winnipeg Free Press last week, which went swimmingly. They even sent over a photographer to take pictures for it - meaning it's going to be a bigger article than I'd initially thought. Awesome.

Our first board of directors is pretty much assembled, and we're going to have our first meeting in the coming weeks. We'll be posting all of our talking points for public view, just not sure where we'll be posting them yet.

Enough about business! I'm going over to Veronica's apartment for falafel and wine!

Good afternoon!

Things have been getting a little busy around Cherrystems lately! We've spent the last week being interviewed for an article by the Winnipeg Free Press, and setting up a sudden explosion of photoshoots. In the next few weeks, we'll be introducing you to a bunch of new models, and a lot of new sets! Can't wait for all the change going on around here!

We're also really excited for our BUST magazine ad, which debuts in the August/September issue. Can't wait! So many of us here at Cherrystems have been long-time readers of the mag, so to have a little quarter page of our own is pretty exciting.

Oh! And featured set! This week, we're featuring a set that debuted just after our launch, meaning that only a dozen or so accounts were activated at the time. It deserves more attention than that! So here it is, Bailey's "Quiet on the Set"!

Stay fly, and I'll keep you all posted as we really get crazy next week!

Hello all! Happy Friday, hope you all had a lovely Canada Day (or are gearing up for a great Independence Day in the states).

This week we're featuring another fantastic set that has never before graced the front page of Cherrystems.com. All sets deserve their time in the sun, so here's one of our favourites: The Dark, by Kitten. Mmrowr. The rope work in this set was amazing to watch happen, and it's definitely eye-catching.

We're almost finished going through our awesome backlog of sets, and are building up a whole new group to start unveiling. Can't wait to show you all what we've been up to, including two brand new models and some incredibly hot scenarios.

Hope to see you all tomorrow at the WRDL's second hometown bout at the Convention Centre. Cherrystems has taken another ad out in the program this time around, and we're super stoked to welcome all the new members once again!

Awesome. Have a great night.

Hey kids,

It's another Friday here at Cherrystems, and we're featuring another set that has yet to be featured on our newly relaunched site. This classic has been around almost since the beginning, but is another that is just finally getting around to being featured on the main page. It's one of my favourites, so everyone head on over to Casey's set, Classy Dame and let her know what you think!

We're proud to announce that in these past two weeks, we've added two fabulous new models to our roster. The first is Skinartia, who I'm very happy to have met. This wee lady is a complete powerhouse in front of the lens. Fancy her if you please, and I think we can all agree that her sets are ones we'll look forward to. :)

Who is the second? Well, you'll just have to wait and see!

We're also almost done with our new section of the site, which will feature all things prose. Movie reviews, erotica, music, and more. Thanks goes out to all the wonderful people that are lending their lexicons!

Happy Friday, everyone.

My treat to you on this wonderful mid-June day is me. I hadn't shot a new set in over a year - the ones you were seeing were old backlog sets, while I took a step back to let the other models have their time to shine. Now I once again get to enjoy the thrill of a new set! Fuck yeah!

Check out my newest, Boudoir, shot by the wonderful MisterIan.

Also stay tuned because in about two weeks, we'll be launching a new section of the site featuring written works by Cherrystems.com's official writing team. Erotica, advice, music, and more. It's going to be awesome. If you think you can contribute, drop us a line at kate@cherrystems.com.

This fantastic Friday, we're introducing you to a brand new set from Cherrystems' favourite gothy gal, Arachnia.
Leopard print and a pretty lady? Sounds good to me.

This week's new set really is The Cat's Meow. The beautiful VixenMassacre struts her sexy stuff, in a set that can only be described as having been spontaneous. I showed up in her home to figure out some outfit choices for her first set, Beautiful Disaster, when the idea for this set came together. Luckily, photographers Dayna and Brynna were up to the task of shooting a beautiful lady all afternoon. Hell yeah.

In other news, congrats go out to the winner(s) of the Cherrystems prizes at the Best of Burlesque fundraiser! It's the first time we've given stuff to a silent auction, and we'd do it again, goddammit!

I mean it!

Hopefully more shoots this week, and meeting a new photographer on Monday. Here's to Cherrystems, and to you.

Hello and happy Friday once again, all.

It's a fancy day around here at Cherrystems headquarters. Not only did we get our very first printer/scanner/copier thing today, we also have boobs to show you!

Today's new set is by Kate, who is also known as me. This set was shot a while back, and is happy to finally see the light of the intertubes. Bonus points if you can name all those records I'm playing with. I'd redo this set now if it weren't overkill, as my record collection has definitely expanded since this shoot.

Anyhow! We're still waiting on the Visa processing, but it shouldn't be much longer.

We've also partnered with another group for sponsorship - the Brandon Roller Derby League. Yeah, we're just all over ladies in fishnets on roller skates.

An Industrial Friday.

Industrial music is abrasive and aggressive. Hard, and avant-garde. These are exactly the kinds of words I'd use to compliment Arachnia in her latest set, Industrial. It's moody as hell, and her piercing gaze will just melt you. Head over, check it out, and let her know what a saucy lady she is.

This is also the first set to go live that our newest photographer has shot. Everyone, give a warm welcome to MisterIan, who has already shot four amazing sets for the site in just a few weeks. The rest are still to come - you'll just have to wait.

We'll also soon be introducing a photographer distinction to the site, so that you can browse sets by photographer - in case you happen to really dig the style of a specific one.

With all the changes around here, aren't you excited to be some of the first members? Hellyeah.

Thanks for all the support!

Hello all,

Hope you're having a fine Thursday.

I have news for you! News! It's about Visa processing. We've now made our payment of fees to our processing overlords, CCBill, so that we can accept Visa transactions. Though apparently it's not that easy - it's now in Visa's hands to decide when and if we get to process those transactions. We're looking forward to offering this payment option to all of you, but this is just a note that I'm not sure when it's actually going to kick in. Once it does, I'll post again. If you happen to be going through the payment process and see the Visa sign available on the signup page before I do (say, if I'm asleep at the time of authorization), then that means we're live and processing.

At any rate, this can apparently take *up to* 30 business days, so I thought I should warn you. It's out of our hands at this point, and we do apologize for any inconveniences. If you've been affected by our inability to process Visa at the moment, please email kate@cherrystems.com, and I'll note that when you do sign up, I'll add some extra subscription time for you.

Thanks for all your patience and support!

The Albert

We find ourselves at another Friday. A lot of people have been asking me about the other sets that were shot at the Royal Albert Hotel, which made me realize that the other sets we shot that day have never been featured, instead just sitting in the back corner alone.

To correct that problem, I'm today featuring Bailey's stunning set, Angel. She was one of the ladies that headed down to the Albert on a nice spring day soon after the residents were all cleared out of the upstairs hotel. Bailey was awesome about the whole experience, ready to jump in the tub in the murder room and anxious to bring out the beauty in these busted up rooms. I think she really achieved it in this set, don't you think?

Just for reference, the other set that we shot that day was my Going Up?, shot at the stairwell that leads to the roof of the Albert.

Next week we'll be back to new models and new sets, with a new one from Arachnia! You'll also be able to join the site using your shiny Visa card! Holy crap!

Have a great weekend.

Our very first male model!

We're really excited today around Cherrystems. There's a buzz in the air, similar to the very first time we launched. Today marks another first for us - our very first male model, Ed. Give him a warm welcome as he bares all for us with his relaxed set, Afternoon.

From the start, Cherrystems has put itself out there as a place where equality reigns. Our membership levels are holding steady at about 50/50 men and women, and we're really proud of that. We're a safe place for people to be hot and naked, no matter who they are.

Ed here blew through town on a cross-Canada tour, staying on my couch for a couple of nights between train departures. I told him about the website, and he was pretty much ready to drop trou right then. Luckily, I was able to wrangle our wonderful photography team of Dayna and Bee, and we created this amazing set. It was a learning experience for all involved - how do you shoot men? How do you pose them? All questions we quickly figured out the answers to.

Flip through and watch him enjoy some of Winnipeg's delicious Half Pints beer, a few of my books, and being pantsless.

Happy fucking Friday!
Hell yeah!

PS - if you are having trouble viewing a post you've just made, give it about a minute. The clocks on our servers are out of sync, and until we can get it sorted out, we'll just have to wait.

A while ago, a couple of photographers, three ladies, a hair and makeup artist, headed down to the Albert to shoot some photos. This week's new set by Kate was just one of the few sets we shot that day.

As a longtime patron of this punk/rock haunt, I was absolutely stoked to shoot here. Of course I'd drunkenly stared up at the balconies hundreds of time, always wondering what kind of debauchery was going on behind the scuzzy window panes. I'm happy to say that I've now contributed to the debauchery.

It's a set that really rocks my world, and I hope it rocks yours too.

On another note, you should all head down to this event in May. It's a fantastic-looking burlesque show in our hometown of Winnipeg. It's taken a while for burlesque to catch on here, but it's clearly in full swing these days. Come out and support the scene!

Long weekend

Some long weekends are long because you get an extra day off, others are long because you have a jam-packed schedule with two 11-hour bus rides, a cake to make, a 50th birthday to attend, a sick granny to see, and numerous other commitments. Then add to that a stupid error on the part of Greyhound, and you have a long weekend.

Aaron and I headed out to Saskatoon this weekend for the above-mentioned reasons. We were to arrive Saturday morning at 6am, leaving Sunday night at 10pm in order to get back home Monday morning so that Aaron could get to work. The way home is where it got screwed up. See, Saskatchewan isn't like the rest of the country and doesn't observe daylight savings time. The result was that our tickets said 10pm departure, but meant 9pm. We showed up at the station just after 9, only to find that our bus had already left without us. Great.

We shacked up in a hotel overnight, which was very comfy and gave us both a good sleep that we rather needed. Spent Monday walking around Saskatoon (oh boy!) to keep ourselves busy until 9pm Monday night, when we would try this all again. Luckily, it worked out the second time.

So that's where I've been! Anyone else have a long weekend, or even a good weekend?

I tried sleeping pills for the first time on the way home, as I only slept 2 hours on the way out there. I'm now suffering the drowsy after-effects, but at least I got to sleep on the bus. I worked it out to having had about 7 hours of sleep this time around. Not bad.

Though now I think I'm done with the bus.

Today was no exception. We shot new sets with an entirely new model. She's a perfect fit for CS, and we're super excited to welcome her to the family.
Oh man, oh man. You guys are going to start seeing some awesome new stuff around here pretty soon. We're just getting through the old sets, and the new ones are going to start piling up. We've worked out a few new photographers, all of whom I'm extremely excited to work with, and even more new models, who I can't wait to work with!

In my personal life, things have been good. Finished up a paper tonight that's due tomorrow evening. It was a fun one to write, and I'm happy that it's the last assignment before the exam in this class. I do have to kick my ass into high gear for my philosophy of logic class, though. Eep. I did a bunch of philosophy courses this year, just bumping up my GPA. Alcohol, it lowers the GPA. Age, it bumps it up. So I'm not getting A+s, but I'm not getting Cs either. A good range of B-A is good. Very good.

So many things going on this week. I'll be updating the CS facebook page with all kinds of goodies as we get closer to the date of the WRDL's bout. I'm really excited to start advertising. Hopefully we can reach our Visa merchant goals a whole lot sooner this way.

Fuck, I'm tired. I had an energy drink earlier because I knew I had to write this paper. I don't normally drink any caffeine, except in weekend breakfast tea and in energy drinks once every few months when it's time to hammer out a paper I've procrastinated on. Now it's almost 3am, the paper is written, and the caffeine is finally wearing off. It is time for bed.

The Out of Doors

I'm so glad this one is finally out! Two summers ago, a group of lovely Cherrystemmers packed up our bags and headed out to high lake's eco cabins for a weekend of drinking, shooting, and relaxing. We got two wonderful sets out of the weekend, the other which will be released next week.

This set is by Kate, which is also known as yours truly. I'll avoid writing in the third person.

The plan was to hop in the water, but I'd sprained my ankle pretty badly the night before. I'd taken the bandage off and hobbled up and down the rocks, laughing my ass off at the absurdity of the whole situation. The end result is stunning, with the crystal clear skies and water.

Enjoy the set, think of summer, and remember that it's not that far off anymore! Leave a comment on the set if you dig it! It'd make my day.

Rock out tonight at Fesitval, those of you that live in Winnipeg. Caribou is best out of a glass made of ice.

Happy weekend,
-Kate

Today's new set by the stunning Bailey is amazing! A sophisticated beauty, Bailey shows off an old Super8 camera and herself in this lovely set.

Be sure to stop in and leave a comment to let her know how awesome it is.

In other news, we're still looking forward to the WRDL's very first at-home bout on February 27th! Get your tickets now, and look for Cherrystems' very first ad ever in the program!

And hey, what's going on tonight? It's Friday. It'd be a shame to waste it.

Morning

Good morning!

It's 10:41am, I'm bored and need to study. As a result, I'll be heading down to the good ol' Salisbury House to have some pancakes or a cinnamon bun and some tea while cracking the books. It's good to get out of your space a bit.

I'm pretty excited by the prospect of having "girl friends" lately. I never really had many in my formative years, so I'm really enjoying it now that I'm befriending professional, like-minded females. Hooray!

Bring on the summer, dammit.

You may have noticed a few slight changes around here, and will continue to notice more. We're taking your feedback from the forum section and making the site work the way YOU want it to. Yes, you.

If you'd like to point out something that isn't working the way that you'd like it to, head over here and let us know.

Some things that have changed even just today are:
-new forum posts links on the front page
-films section actually displays when editing your profile (sorry about that, Dole. That section has been trouble.)
-forum formatting changed slightly
-RSS feed! It's linked at the bottom of this main page here. Keep updated on our updates. Up to date?

And we're on our way to some bigger changes, too. Awesome.

Boobs.

I think set updates are the most difficult to promote when it's my own boobs that I'm promoting. Such is the case with this week's new set, by yours truly.

It was actually the very first shoot that we ever did here at CS. I'd kept it on the back burner for so long because I wanted to make sure I was releasing other people's sets first. Today while deciding which one should go up next, I stumbled upon this nugget! It's about time it saw the light of day!

Be sure to stop by the forums to connect with your fellow Cherrystemmers.

Enjoy the weekend, and drop a line if you'd like to be a photographer or model for Cherrystems!

Thanks for popping by!

If any of you Winnipeggers are into ladies on roller skates, you should check out the WRDL's very first hometown bout on February 27th at the Convention Centre. It's the triumphant return of roller derby to Winnipeg, so don't miss out. Not to mention that you'll get to see our ad in the program!

In other news, we have another great set lined up for Friday, featuring yours truly. See you then!

Dr. Horrible

I am presently rewatching Dr. Horrible's Sing-A-Long Blog, and it makes me happy.

This morning was perfect - a nice greasy breakfast made for me, 1L of water, a big mug full of tea, great light pouring in through the windows, and an hour and a half of wonderful conversation in the living room. It's really good to catch up.

Last night I met an awesome lady that wants to take her clothes off for all of you. Here's hoping she does it, 'cause she's an awesome lady. She invited us back to her place after greasy munchies at Papa George's, but it was already closing in on 4am, and I have shit to do today. Maybe another time, as I really need to hang out with more ladies. I've been spending all of my time around men. Too many men!

Tonight is going to be a great night.

First week back!

Well, this has been an awesome week. We've been getting back on top of things, updating, and improving the site every day. It feels really, really good.

In other news, my life is going quite well. Tonight I will have project time with Aaron and Marlon. Or rather, they will have project time together in the spare bedroom and I will create something with my serger in the living room. I'm thinking it's time to make myself some leggings for springtime, as it's only about 1.5 months away.

Oh! And Dan Savage is coming to town tomorrow! Words can not express how excited I am for this to happen. If you're not familiar with him, Dan Savage is the writer behind Savage Love on thestranger.com. It's a syndicated advice column that used to be featured in our very own Uptown magazine, but has since been replaced with some woman that gives very boring advice on risque topics. BORING.

He'll be at the University of Manitoba tomorrow from 12:00-2:00pm in the MPR. Come one, come all!

Kitten - Apple of my Eye

What's this? Another new set from Kitten, our favourite lady that likes to get all tied up! Watching this happen was truly watching art happen - the knots are so intricate and created not only for restraint, but also with comfort in mind. Credit goes to Osin for the wonderful works of rope art, and to Dayna Danger and Brynna for the photography.

Be sure to leave a comment on her set if you dig it!

A Haitian Relief Banjo.

A friend of ours makes banjos. He has decided that he would like to make a donation to the relief efforts in Haiti, but does not have a lot of money to donate. He does, however, make the banjos that I mentioned above. His decision is to sell one of these to someone at a reduced price - If you make a $250 donation to the Red Cross, he will give you this banjo. His other banjos list at prices double that. There is video on this group page of the banjo being played. You can check out his company website here: http://www.rottenwoodbanjos.com/

It's a wonderful thing. You get a banjo, and Haiti gets relief. Win win. Win.

Join the group and pass on the word, or just buy the banjo! It's here: http://www.facebook.com/group.php?gid=413539670245&ref=mf#

The New Site!

Welcome everyone! After a year of test test testing, we finally have a finished product. You may see design changes and the like in the months to come, but what it all boils down to is a fully-functioning website. No more dead links, no more promises. It's really all here. No foolin'!

Cherrystems is volunteer-run, and as soon as we raise enough cash to do a few costly things with the website (advertising in print media, Visa merchant payment of $750, incorporation, etc), we're aiming to become a charitable organization. So far the aim is to donate 50% of the cash that flows in to the website to various charities for the rest of the life of the website. We'll run a poll when we get closer to our goals and let you all choose who gets cash. The organizations selected for the poll will be shelters, help lines, body image courses and counseling, sexual health awareness organizations, and more. All amazing things that we need here in Canada. Hooray!

So that said, tell your friends about Cherrystems.com! The more subscriptions we get, the sooner we can get donating! Here we go!
