In other awesome news, I've been partnering with Charlie Spats post-FPAs to create the Canadian Queer Porn Network.  This is a tool for anyone involved in/interested in Canadian-made smut.  Unlike the US, which has San Francisco as a hub, Canada lacks a hub for queer porn.  What we're doing here at CS does fall under the queer blanket, though we're often pigeonholed as being straight, and we're excited to be a part of such a diverse network.  You can use the network to learn about other Canadian projects, sites, models, performers, crew, and casting calls.  You can join the list by following these instructions.

And now on to this week's set!  Skinartia's back with a end-of-winter outdoor set, Goosebumps - shot by DaynaDanger on a fire escape in Winnipeg's Exchange District.  The trees hadn't yet gotten their leaves, but the snow was gone, and we've all been itching to get back outside.

We did it!  We made our first non-trivial donation!  Osborne House have been on the receiving end of our profits, and we hope to be able to extend that same kind of help to other organizations, and in larger amounts! 

Osborne House is a shelter for women and children who have been the victims of domestic abuse.  As some of you Winnipeggers may know, they have been in need of funding for a couple of months now.  While fundraisers are being organized and the community is banding together, it's still not quite enough.  A quick google search for Osborne House turns up basically only articles relating to its inability to take in more women and children. 

The donation that we made was small, $315, but it's what we could manage at the moment.  It's also our very first monetary donation, and we hope that as time goes on, more and more people will feel good about what we're doing, and good about the effect body and sex positivity have on their lives.  Join today as a great way to help our communities while exposing yourself to pansexual awesomness and

We're also SO excited to announce that we here at CS are diversifying in terms of model genders.  We've already represented the LGBQ* of LGBTQ*, but now we're proud to step that all the way up to LGBTQ* with the addition of one of our newest models.  He'll be debuting in the coming month, so keep your eyes peeled!  He's a completely stunning feast for the eyes and, for those of you lucky enough to attend a seminar where he speaks or just meet him and have a conversation, the ears.  Also the heart.  He's so amazing.

When the realization hit this morning, I jumped out of bed and plopped right down in front of the computer.  Right to work! 

The awesome news is that it's up and visible now, so check it out!  We're welcoming yet another beautiful model to the site, Colette.  She approached me with the idea to shoot a Theda Bara-inspired set, with hopes for doing it outside while there was still snow on the ground.  As luck would have it, the Tuesday we picked was just before the big thaw, but was still above 0 so that she wasn't completely frozen.  Ian and Adventuress made the trudge out to a secluded forest and made this magic happen.

He had a lot of great advice for us here at Cherrystems, and I'd like to again thank Marie for hooking me up with the lunch date and pre-speech greeting.  There'll be some changes around here in the next few weeks, including an exciting affiliate program that gives you fellow website owners the chance to make some cash off of us.  Awesome, right?

We also had a big ol' sleepover last weekend!  It was amazing!  It was the first time so many CS models and photographers had been in the same room at the same time.  In attendance were MissRuby, Arachnia, Marie, Kate, Iris, Samara, BettyBitch, CalamityJane, and photographers Brynna, MissMetro, and (later) MisterIan.  It was amazing.

For a bit of background info, Aaron and I bought a house a few weeks ago and have since been drowning in paperwork and minor renovations.  We should be all moved into it by the new year, so things here at CS will normalize again then.  The fact that I've got enough time to write this out is kind of unusual, as I've basically been either sick as a dog in bed (damn you, common cold!), painting the house, learning about wiring, at my day job, or packing every waking moment. 

The even awesomer news is that we'll have a whole new house to shoot sexy photos in!

Exciting week around CS indeed.  We got to watch the very first version of the Cherrystems pilot trailer thinger, and we're all super energized from watching it.  So exciting!  Of course being that it's only in its first version, we can't show it to you, our lovely public, just yet.  Soon!

This week we're bringing back Iris in her sophomore set, Mad Tea Party.  It was shot by DaynaDanger and features a whole lot of endangered teacups.  :)

Why?  Because today we're introducing you to a brand new set from one of our newest models, CalamityJane.  She's fresh meating it up with the Winnipeg Roller Derby League, who we're happy to have advertised with in the past.  They've actually just had a bout last week on the 24th - you may have even met Miss CalamityJane if you were there!

Also, why in the fuck am I watching song after song on The Sing Off on Youtube right now?!  Seriously, what the fuck?  I saw that Ben Folds is one of the judges, so I looked into it (being the big nerd with a boner for Ben Folds that I am), and now I've found myself here an hour later having watched like 8 songs worth of pop drivel done a cappella.  WHAT HAVE YOU DONE TO ME, INTERNET??

Today we're rolling out number three in the Cherrystems beach day series, Summer of Samara.  The star of which is, obviously, Samara. 

This week was also big for Cherrystems.  Our set backlog is actually a backlog, which doesn't happen often!  Hopefully we can just keep filling it and filling it until we can start rolling out sets twice a week.  What a dream!

Today we're introducing yet another new model (wow, two in as many weeks!).  His name is LeoLondon, and he's got a bit of a song to sing for you in his debut set, Crooner. 

When I first met Leo, he seemed a bit shy.  So it often goes when I meet most CS hopefuls for the first time.  Little did I know, this fella can write a hell of a song.  Even just last night I went over to his little apartment with company such as CoCo, Adventuress, and our programmer, Aaron.  Leo was having a bit of an open mic night, and so I got to hear just what a crooner he actually is.  This is the real deal, ladies.

We have yet another week of sexy new images for you here at Cherrystems, this time courtesy of Samara, with her set titled "Shedding Skin".  It was all brought together by amazing photographer-extraordinaire, MissMetro in a friend's creepy creepy basement. 

No really, I mean it was super creepy.  It was this tiny little room off the foundation of the house, with a tiny arched doorway and about 1000 spiders.  Apparently he vacuumed a lot of them up before we arrived, which is nice. 

Regardless of the spider situation, we dove right in and made ourselves as "at home" as we could.  My opinion?  Super amazingly worth it.  Stop by the set and leave a comment to let her know just how worth it that it was.

All blogs and articles are now visible to non-members!  Yay! A lot of people have been asking for more free content, and we've been making the effort to diversify and offer more content for those who aren't sure about getting a membership just yet.

We just finished a marathon night of crafting here at Cherrystems headquarters, and my fingers are itchy from curling ribbon.  Samara, Skinartia, and our newest model, Iris, joined me for preparations for the Black and Blue Ball this Saturday.  Excitement!

Lousy Smarch is well underway, with its weird weather and longer days.  I do like the longer days, but could go without the flooding and slush.

Anyhow.  On to much more exciting things - including nudity!

These last two weeks have been intense.  I have finally managed to stay healthy for more than 2 weeks at a time, and as such have been putting all kinds of work into Cherrystems.  Meetings, shoots, organizing, events, and more.  In the last 3 weeks alone, there have been 6 new sets shot!  6!!  We're just waiting on them to be edited, and then we'll be on a new set release every week!  Yay! 

We'll also be introducing you to two brand new models, one fella and one lady.  There will also be a brand new two-lady set, another from Skinartia, and two from the lovely BettyBitch, who is also our featured model this week. 

If you're looking for anything to do this Friday, why not head on down to Aqua Books (which you should do all the time anyway) to watch me chat a bit with owner Kelly Hughes on his live-audience talk show, Kelly Hughes Live.  You'll also get to hear from Winnipeg's burlesque darling, Miss LaMuse, and Miss LonelyHearts (Maureen Scurfield).  Sexy times to be had!

It's been a while since my last *official* update, though both myself and programmer man Aaron have been updating the site itself like madpeople.  Luckily, it's all done.  

Also lucky?  Having a brand new model to introduce all of you to!  She just shot her very first set on Saturday evening at a great Winnipeg landmark.  We're so excited to be bringing new people on board, and love the enthusiasm everyone's been sending out.

We're also pleased that photographer DaynaDanger will be returning to Winnipeg for a spell in mid March to visit and to shoot naked people.  Hooray!  Now all we need is her partner, Bee, to come home too.  :)  I have such fun with those girls.

We're also planning a group shoot to address some of the issues that came up long ago during the time of our Winnipeg Free Press article.  There were a bunch of negative sentiments expressed, including that I have misshapen breats, that some people are too flat, some too large, etc.  A bunch of us are getting together, the tall and the small, to show just how happy we are about those little differences in bodies.  We could have gotten super mad about name-calling and negativity, but instead we decided to roll our eyes and continue being awesome.  Good call, I think.

In the last bit of news, some of you may notice that the Customer From Hell set that was recently posted has since been taken down. After long and careful consideration, I decided that it broke too many of my own rules to have up on the site.  I made the rules, and I broke them. Apologies to anyone who was disappointed in me for posting set, but you can now know that I learned a lesson about set publishing from all of it.  Everything is just going to be a lot more transparent around here in terms of photoset expectations from us.  Capiche?  Excellent.

It's time for me to get back to work, but before that, I'm changing the feature set for the week.  It's late, but we also didn't have new material for this week.  So here's me with pink hair.

We're debuting the section for the very first time today, and featuring Kevrock666's blog, titled "Kev's Cassette Club".  In this lil' blog of his, he'll be going through his old cassette collection at random, reviewing what he finds on a weekly basis.  Sounds good?  Great.

Keep you eyes peeled for more articles as the week progresses, and if you'd like to submit an idea for an article/blog of your own, don't hesitate to drop a line!

I could blather on about all the new goodies we're working on, but that will just have to wait 'til February.  Also, I'm sure you're all here for a much better reason - this week's new set, Pop by Skinartia.

Not only is this set eye catching because of the pretty lady in it, it's also quite possibly the most brightly-coloured set that we've ever featured.  I mean seriously, look at those colours! 

We actually shot this set as a kind of response to some of the negative remarks we've encountered in our days out on the internet.  Some folks seem to think that Skinartia's all dark and gloomy, having done two sets with her gasmask already.  We found this to be pretty neat - two photographers' interpretation of the same theme.  But people are hard to please, so we decided we'd do something completely different.  Trouble is, dark and moody IS Skinartia - especially when you team her up with the talented MisterIan behind the lens.

Since we're getting a lot of new traffic around here after the On7 article, I should take a moment to explain a few things. First off, Fridays are the day that new things get posted around here. We're still a pretty new site, run entirely by volunteers. That means that, sometimes, we don't have anything completely new to show you some weeks. Instead of just leaving the same set up for two weeks at a time, we feature a "classic" set, to remind everyone what's around. It's not ideal, but we used to have a one set a month release schedule that we couldn't even keep up to. Give him a warm welcome as he bares all for us with his relaxed set, Afternoon. From the start, Cherrystems has put itself out there as a place where equality reigns. Our membership levels are holding steady at about 50/50 men and women, and we're really proud of that. We're a safe place for people to be hot and naked, no matter who they are. Ed here blew through town on a cross-Canada tour, staying on my couch for a couple of nights between train departures. I told him about the website, and he was pretty much ready to drop trou right then. Luckily, I was able to wrangle our wonderful photography team of Dayna and Bee, and we created this amazing set. It was a learning experience for all involved - how do you shoot men? How do you pose them? All questions we quickly figured out the answers to. As a longtime patron of this punk/rock haunt, I was absolutely stoked to shoot here. Of course I'd drunkenly stared up at the balconies hundreds of time, always wondering what kind of debauchery was going on behind the scuzzy window panes. I'm happy to say that I've now contributed to the debauchery. It's a set that really rocks my world, and I hope it rocks yours too. On another note, you should all head down to this event in May. It's a fantastic-looking burlesque show in our hometown of Winnipeg. It's taken a while for burlesque to catch on here, but it's clearly in full swing these days.
